All About Karma Wire(6J22)
- Product Details
6J22 wire, also known as Karma alloy resistance wire, is a precision alloy made primarily from copper, nickel, aluminum, and iron. It is notable for its high resistivity, which is 2-3 times greater than Manganin, and its lower temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR). This makes it particularly useful for making fine precision resistance elements and strain foils.
Key properties of 6J22 wire include:
Resistivity: Approximately 1.33 µΩ.m at 20°C
Working Temperature Range: -60°C to 300°C
Density: 8.1 g/cm³
Thermal EMF versus Copper: Low, making it stable over a long period
Oxidation Resistance: Strong, which is beneficial for durability
The wire is used in various applications, including in precision resistors and strain gauges, due to its consistent performance over a wide temperature range and its stability against environmental factors like oxidation
